Your first visit
Not sure what to expect? This page takes you through every step: how to book and prepare, what happens during your session, and what to do afterwards to help you move better every day.
Before your appointment
Book online
Choose a time that suits you when you book online.
After you book you will get:
- A confirmation email with the clinic address and everything you need to know about your appointment
- A text reminder 2 days before your appointment (or shortly after you book, if your appointment is sooner than that).
Complete the intake form
You will receive an intake form 2 days before your appointment (or shortly after booking if it’s sooner than that). It covers your health history, what has brought you in, any current treatment, allergies, consent and an emergency contact. It takes a few minutes, so your appointment can start straight away. Coming back? There’s no form to redo.
What to bring and wear
- Loose, comfortable clothes you can move in. For movement work, activewear is ideal.
- You only undress as much as you’re comfortable with, and you stay covered with towels the whole time. A hand towel is available for extra cover over your ribs or stomach during face-up work.
- Your health fund card, so you can claim your rebate on the spot.
- Scans, X-rays or injury history, and any notes from your doctor or physiotherapist. While they help, what matters most is that your treatment is shaped by how your body is responding right now. You don’t need a referral to book.

At the appointment
Assessment
Your session starts with a conversation about what’s brought you in and what you’d like to get out of your treatment. Dan then checks how you move to find out where you are restricted and what might be driving it. Every appointment starts this way, so your treatment matches how your body feels that day.
“Every appointment is based on how your body is doing today, not just what we worked on last time.” – Dan
Hands-on and movement
Hands-on work eases tension and helps you move more freely again, then movement therapy builds the strength to hold onto that. Sometimes the two happen together. For example, moving an area while cupping is applied, to work on tightness that’s harder to reach with stillness alone.
What gets used is chosen for what you need that day, and might include:
- Remedial massage
- Dry needling
- Cupping therapy
- Movement therapy
Payment
Pay on the day by EFTPOS, bank transfer, or online by card when you book. Afterpay is also available.
HICAPS health fund rebates are processed on the spot, so you only pay the gap (the part your health fund doesn’t cover).
After your appointment
Your plan and aftercare
You leave with a clear plan: what the assessment found, simple things to do between sessions, and an honest idea of how many sessions you’re likely to need.
Looking after yourself afterwards:
- Stay upright and gently active for a while. It helps the work from your session stick.
- Heading to the gym? Start with a gentle session that is lighter than usual. Focus on form rather than going for a personal best. Your muscles may move more freely than you're used to, and your body needs a little time to adjust.
- Feeling a bit stiff the next morning is normal. Gentle movement and light stretching usually ease it quickly.
